Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or location entered in a search tool is sent directly to the third party that operates that tool. The provider processes the query and supplies its own results. We do not retain or log those search terms on our systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
We retain an email or other direct message when needed to respond. It remains within our organization unless disclosure is required by a valid legal obligation.
Data We Gather Automatically
Our systems automatically receive basic technical information when a page loads:
- Page-view timestamps
- Your device's IP address
- Pages viewed and time spent on them
- Browser name and version
- Device type and operating system
- A referring website, when one is supplied
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files placed on a device. We and our analytics providers use them to understand aggregate traffic, such as popular pages and common exit points. A browser can reject cookies, although blocking them may change how some site functions behave.
What We Do With This Data
- Route search requests to the selected partner service
- Maintain site availability and performance
- Diagnose and correct technical problems
- Assess which pages are useful or need improvement
- Display advertising that may reflect visitor interests
No Criminal-Record Data on File
This site does not maintain, compile, or sell a database of personal criminal records. It publishes general directions to records held by the St. Charles Parish Sheriff's Office, the 29th Judicial District Court and Clerk of Court, the Louisiana State Police Bureau of Criminal Identification and Information, and the Louisiana State Police State Sex Offender and Child Predator Registry. Louisiana Public Records Law, La. R.S. 44:1 et seq., governs access to qualifying government records, while La. R.S. 15:587 controls dissemination of state criminal-history information. Those laws do not turn this private site into a government custodian. We are not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA, and visitor data is not assembled into consumer reports.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the search boxes. Information submitted through a tool is governed by that provider's privacy policy, retention schedule, and sharing practices, not this policy. Review those terms before running a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to the St. Charles Parish Sheriff's Office, court portals, Louisiana agencies, legal-aid resources, or outside search services. Once you leave this site, the destination's privacy rules apply. Review them before providing personal information.
Advertising providers may use their systems to track activity across websites for targeted advertising. We do not operate that tracking infrastructure.
Who Might See Your Data
We do not sell personal information. Data may be disclosed to:
- Analytics providers that measure traffic and performance
- Search partners that process a query
- Advertising networks serving ads on the site
- Government or law-enforcement authorities acting under a valid legal order
How We Protect Your Data
We use customary safeguards for collected data, but no internet-connected system can be guaranteed secure. Reasonable protective measures reduce risk without eliminating the possibility of unauthorized access.
Users Under 18
The site is intended for adults, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we learn that a minor supplied such data, we will delete it.
Your Data Rights
Rights may vary with residence and applicable law. Louisiana's Unfair Trade Practices and Consumer Protection Law, La. R.S. 51:1401 et seq., and Database Security Breach Notification Law, La. R.S. 51:3071 et seq., may apply in circumstances those statutes cover. Subject to legal exceptions, you may:
- Request deletion of personal data we hold
- Ask what personal information we maintain about you
- Request correction of inaccurate information
- Object to certain processing where applicable
Updates to This Policy
We may revise this policy. A revised version becomes available on this page with an updated effective date.
